Tim Thomas (Will Smith) is a gifted aerospace engineer with a beautiful wife and a lovely beach house. Unfortunately for Tim his perfect life is turned upside down when he`s involved in a car accident killing a number of people for which he later tries to atone in various ways which inadvertently involve death only to find hope in despair through love.
