For young couple Chris and Lisa Mattson (Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington) life is good having just moved into their dream home, become the target of their beloved psychotic neighbor and LAPD officer Abel Turner (Samuel L. Jackson) who disapproves of their interracial dwelling. Turner having appointed himself the watchdog of the neighborhood conducts his nightly foot patrols becomes increasingly harassing to the newlyweds.
