Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose life is destroyed when his wife and daughter are killed during and home invasion and subsequently one of the killers escapes the full hand of the law when he does a deal with an unwitting prosecutor Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx).
